Production Planning Team Leader

About the role

Essity is looking for a Production Planning Team Leader to join its Professional Hygiene Supply Planning Organization, based in Sant Joan Despí (Barcelona), Spain. Reporting to the Supply Planning Operations Manager, you will lead a team of Production Planners, ensure effective execution of planning activities and support the company's Supply Planning transformation. The role combines people leadership, operational management, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Production Planners through coaching, regular performance discussions and a strong planning culture
• Ensure planning activities deliver product availability across the network, optimising inventory levels, service performance and working capital
• Act as a key link between the Supply Planning Hub and internal and external stakeholders, providing visibility on planning activities
• Monitor planning KPIs, run root cause analysis and address risks and bottlenecks
• Support the adoption of digital tools, standardised processes and new ways of working, collaborating with the Planning Excellence network

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field
• At least 3 years of experience in Supply Planning, Materials Planning, Production Planning, Inventory Management or related supply chain functions
• Previous experience leading people or demonstrated ability to manage and develop others
• Fluent English, written and spoken

Required skills

• Root cause analysis, exception management and sound decision-making in fast-moving environments
• Advanced Excel and reporting/visualization tools such as Power BI
• SAP planning solutions (APO, IBP, S/4HANA) or equivalent supply chain planning systems
• Understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes
