Project Manager – Space Programs

About the role

Airbus CRISA is seeking a Project Manager to lead projects within its Launchers & New Space product line, supporting programmes such as Launchers, Earth Exploration (Copernicus), Space Exploration (Artemis) and commercial telecommunications satellites. Based in Tres Cantos, Madrid, the role will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, act as the primary customer interface and ensure delivery against cost, quality and schedule targets.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain the project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and associated work‑packages.
• Plan, schedule and track milestones, critical paths and internal/external deliverables.
• Coordinate the core project team and act as the main liaison with supporting departments and the customer.
• Identify, assess and mitigate risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Control project costs, manage contract changes and perform periodic financial reviews.
• Produce standardized project dashboards, KPI reports and maturity‑gate reviews.
• Ensure configuration management and contractual data management compliance.
• Support the preparation of offers and contribute to development and management plans.

Required profile

• Degree in engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent).
• 3‑5 years of experience in project management, preferably in aerospace or related high‑tech sectors.
• Strong communication skills in English and Spanish.
• Proactive, autonomous and customer‑oriented mindset with the ability to prioritize workload.
• Leadership and active‑listening abilities.
