Promotional Regulatory Affairs Specialist – Europe

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Promotional Regulatory Affairs Specialist to support its Europe Quality & Regulatory Affairs team from Barcelona. The role ensures that all promotional and advertising assets across Europe comply with approved labels, regulatory requirements and internal standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end‑to‑end review process for promotional and advertising assets in Spain, France, the Nordics, the UK and Ireland.
• Screen marketing, medical and scientific materials for compliance risks such as unsupported claims, off‑label promotion and label misalignment.
• Lead MAP (Medical, Advertising, Promotion) meetings and collaborate with Marketing, Medical, Legal, Regulatory, Franchise and Commercial stakeholders to reach clear decisions and avoid escalations.
• Conduct asset reviews in English, French and Spanish, supporting local commercial teams.
• Drive adoption and continuous improvement of promotional review workflows, maintaining documentation discipline and adherence to SOPs and GxP expectations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacy, Communications, Marketing, Business or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 4 years of experience in regulatory affairs, promotional/advertising review, compliance operations or related life‑science environments.
• Strong knowledge of European regulatory market requirements.
• Fluency in Spanish, French and English (Portuguese a plus).
• Excellent attention to detail, sound regulatory judgment and stakeholder management skills.

Required skills

• Experience with Veeva, PromoMats, MAP or MLR workflow tools.
• Familiarity with GxP principles and SOP development.
