PWP Mechanical Analysis Engineer

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Mechanical Analysis Engineer to join the PWP Mechanical Analysis Team in Getafe, Madrid. You will support the design, validation and certification of the ADS platform PWP by performing static, fatigue, dynamic and thermal analyses.

Key responsibilities

• Perform static, fatigue and damage‑tolerance calculations on metallic, composite and hybrid components.
• Develop structural stress evaluations and calculate strength margins using Airbus‑approved methods.
• Use F&DT tools to analyse damaged structures and provide repair or acceptance assessments.
• Collaborate with Flight Physics, Design and System Integration to ensure structural alignment from concept to in‑service support.
• Participate in main design reviews, certification activities and prototype testing.

Required profile

• Degree in Aeronautical or Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical stress analysis for aeronautical applications.
• Advanced level of English.
• Strong adaptability, teamwork orientation and leadership capability.

Required skills

• Programming in Python.
• Advanced proficiency with NASTRAN.
• Advanced proficiency with CATIA.
