Reception Manager – Palacio San Juan

About the role

The Reception Manager leads the front‑office team at Palacio San Juan, a Royal Hideaway Hotel, ensuring smooth guest arrivals, optimal room allocation and high‑quality service. This position reports directly to hotel management and works on‑site.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise, coordinate and supervise all reception‑related sections.
• Oversee daily room‑booking planning, occupancy reports, no‑show lists and VIP guest handling.
• Verify group rooming lists, manage room assignments and changes.
• Register and assign rooms personally when required.
• Handle guest complaints directly and communicate issues to relevant departments.
• Review and sign the incident log.
• Ensure effective inter‑departmental communication.
• Conduct staff meetings and create work schedules, attendance records, hiring and termination processes.
• Recommend sanctions, promotions and participate in staff selection.
• Propose operational improvements and collaborate on room‑rate policies.

Required profile

• Degree in Tourism, Business Administration or related field; or a medium‑level vocational qualification in Hospitality and Tourism.
• Minimum 2 years experience in a similar reception‑management role.
• High proficiency in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and customer‑orientation skills.
• Ability to work in a team, plan, organise and make decisions under pressure.
