Sales Trader – CAEs (Spain)

About the role

Caely Renewables is looking for a Sales Trader to help develop its activities in the Spanish market, focusing on energy efficiency projects and Certificados de Ahorro Energético (CAEs). The role combines technical analysis of energy-saving projects with commercial activity, working with clients, energy service companies, utilities and other market participants to identify eligible projects, assess their potential and structure transactions. It is based in Madrid.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse energy efficiency projects to assess their eligibility under the Spanish CAE scheme
• Identify, calculate, validate, monitor and develop CAE projects
• Calculate energy savings and set project baselines according to the IPMVP protocol where applicable
• Build and maintain relationships with utilities, energy service companies, industrial clients, project developers and other market participants
• Develop new business through cold calling, networking and market research
• Support the commercial team in managing and growing the client portfolio
• Structure transactions that meet client needs and Caely's commercial objectives
• Research market trends and work with colleagues across commercial and technical functions to close transactions

Required profile

• Native-level Spanish and fluent English
• Degree in Engineering or a related technical field
• 3-6 years of experience in the energy efficiency sector
• Experience analysing, developing or managing energy efficiency projects
• Knowledge of the Spanish CAE system and/or CMVP/IPMVP certification is a plus
• Living in Madrid

• Advantage: Excel, programming, AI tools or commercial activities
