Scientific Officer for the Life Sciences Department

About the role

The Barcelona Supercomputing Center is seeking a Scientific Officer to support its Life Sciences Department. The role focuses on finalising scientific contract negotiations, ensuring high‑quality project delivery with private partners, and overseeing daily operational activities within the department.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and conclude contract negotiations with external scientific collaborators and industry partners.
• Coordinate and monitor the execution of research projects, guaranteeing timelines and quality standards.
• Manage day‑to‑day operational tasks of the computational biology and bioinformatics units.
• Act as a liaison between scientific teams and central administration on legal, financial, and data‑management matters.

Required profile

• Proven experience in scientific contract negotiation and project coordination.
• Familiarity with the life‑sciences research environment, particularly computational biology or bioinformatics.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
