About the role

Newton College is seeking a dedicated Secondary Sciences Teacher to join its vibrant learning community. The role involves delivering high‑quality science education to secondary pupils while fostering a love of learning and ensuring their wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver the curriculum for secondary science subjects, preparing teaching materials and programmes.
  • Assess, monitor and record pupil progress, providing regular feedback and setting challenging objectives.
  • Promote safeguarding, welfare and a safe, respectful learning environment.
  • Collaborate with parents, colleagues and external agencies to support pupil achievement.

Required profile

  • Excellent communication and listening skills with the ability to build respectful relationships.
  • Strong organisational abilities to plan lessons and respond to diverse pupil needs.
  • Energy, resourcefulness, patience and a caring nature, with a sense of humour.
  • Understanding of child development and ability to inspire and enthuse young learners.
