Segundo/a Jefe de Cocina – Hotel Barcelo Ponent Beach

About the role

The Hotel Barceló Ponent Beach is looking for a motivated Second Chef to support and, when needed, replace the Head Chef. You will help manage kitchen operations, drive sales initiatives, and ensure high‑quality service for our guests.

Key responsibilities

• Assist and substitute the Head Chef in daily kitchen management.
• Plan and execute actions to achieve sales targets and generate department revenue.
• Organise and coordinate all kitchen services, ensuring smooth workflow.
• Control costs by efficiently managing resources and inventory.
• Lead, train, motivate and develop the kitchen team.
• Maintain service quality in line with guest expectations.

Required profile

• Higher vocational training in Kitchen Management, Hospitality or Tourism, with HACCP knowledge.
• At least 1 year of experience in a similar position.
• High level of English is desirable.
• Good taste and smell memory, creativity and manual dexterity.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Customer‑focused, team‑oriented and able to resolve unexpected issues.
• Analytical, meticulous and capable of planning and organising work.

Required skills

• HACCP (APPCC) food safety system.
• Office software proficiency.
