Senior Consultant / Associate - Finance & Risk, Madrid

About the role

Oliver Wyman's Finance and Risk practice in Madrid is looking for a Senior Consultant or Associate to join a team working with Banking and Financial Services clients on finance and risk strategy, credit transformations, capital accuracy and models, smart pricing, strategic planning, financial resource management and AI and risk modelling. The role sits in a Europe-wide staffing pool with a focus on Spanish and Portuguese markets, and starts with a 6-month onboarding period before leading small to mid-sized teams.

Key responsibilities

• Work with clients on finance and risk strategy, end-to-end credit transformations, capital accuracy and models, smart pricing, strategic planning and financial resource management.
• Contribute to risk modelling engagements alongside Oliver Wyman Data and Analytics specialists.
• As an Associate, break down complex problems into discrete tasks, direct junior consultants and craft recommendations; as a Senior Consultant, frame hypotheses, initiate research and shape the problems tackled.

Required profile

• 2-6 years of relevant experience, ideally in a leading consulting firm focused on financial services, or with banks or FinTechs.
• Undergraduate or advanced degree in STEM, finance or economics from a top university.
• Fluent business English and Spanish or Portuguese.
• Track record of delivering results in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment and willingness to travel worldwide.
• Nice to have: banking industry expertise, especially in credit risk and finance, and CFA or MBA from a top-tier university.
