Senior Consultant - Contaminated Sites

About the role

Ramboll is looking for an experienced Senior environmental consultant with expertise in contaminated sites to join its Site Solutions department in Barcelona. The role combines fieldwork on contaminated sites, oversight of remediation projects, reporting and subcontractor management, and business development. Fluency in Spanish is required, as you will speak with clients about complex projects.

Key responsibilities

• Perform subsurface investigations, groundwater monitoring, risk assessments and remediation work.
• Oversee subcontractors and manage reporting and stakeholder relationships with clients.
• Contribute to business development, define business strategy and prepare proposals.
• Focus business development on water stewardship, cost modelling of environmental liabilities, Phase II surveys, remediation and groundwater modelling, and circular economy projects.
• Support digitalisation services for selected clients.
• Manage projects, write reports and carry out fieldwork when needed.
• Coach junior staff.

Required profile

• Proven experience in contaminated sites.
• Proven experience in business development, strategy and proposal preparation.
• Fluent Spanish and English.
• Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, engineering, geology, chemistry, biology or similar; a Master's degree is a plus.
• Knowledge of applicable local and European legislation.
• Strong health and safety background and behaviour-based safety.
• Excellent written and communication skills.

Required skills

• Familiarity with AutoCAD/GIS and other standard software.
