Senior Legal Counsel

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join our Group Corporate Centre Legal team. The role focuses on M&A and broader corporate centre matters, working across multiple jurisdictions to support strategic initiatives that shape our markets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead or support M&A transactions, corporate reorganisations and other strategic Group initiatives.
• Provide legal advice on complex, time‑sensitive matters requiring Corporate Centre input.
• Prepare high‑quality materials and deliver concise legal input for senior management and board decisions.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, regulators and authorities, preparing key documentation and ensuring effective execution.
• Manage external counsel and contribute to the development of legal processes, frameworks and tools.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in law and admission to the bar in Spain or another relevant European jurisdiction.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in a law firm or the financial sector.
• Strong expertise in M&A and corporate law; competition law or financial market regulation experience is a plus.
• Excellent stakeholder‑management skills with the ability to engage senior leadership and board‑level contacts.
• Independent, pragmatic, solution‑oriented mindset with sound judgment and discretion.
• Fluency in English and Spanish.
