About the role
Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Senior Mission Simulation Engineer to design, develop, test and maintain complex mission simulators that support the validation of advanced aerospace systems, both aircraft and spacecraft. The role combines technical leadership with hands‑on development in a multidisciplinary environment.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop and implement mission simulation models for complex aerospace systems.
- Lead integration of subsystems within simulation environments, ensuring interoperability and performance.
- Conduct comprehensive simulator testing to guarantee accuracy, fidelity and compliance with operational requirements.
- Identify and resolve technical issues, optimizing simulation performance and stability.
- Collaborate with systems, software and hardware engineers across multidisciplinary teams.
- Participate in defining simulation architectures and selecting appropriate technologies.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of simulation development processes and methodologies.
- Provide technical support and training to simulator users and document designs and results.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years experience developing and testing mission simulators or real‑time systems in aerospace or defence.
- Strong experience with C++ programming.
- In‑depth knowledge of simulation architectures, physical modelling and system integration techniques.
- Experience with simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink.
- Familiarity with real‑time operating systems and data communication protocols.
- Proven ability to work in and lead multidisciplinary teams.
- Advanced spoken and written Spanish and English.
- Knowledge of aerospace standards (ARINC, DO‑178C, DO‑254) is an asset.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance if required.
