Senior Mission Simulation Engineer (Military Derivatives)

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Senior Mission Simulation Engineer in its Getafe area team. The role covers the design, development, testing and maintenance of complex mission simulators, which contribute to the validation and verification of advanced aerospace systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement mission simulation models for complex aerospace systems, including aircraft and spacecraft.
• Lead the integration of subsystems within simulation environments, ensuring interoperability and performance.
• Run comprehensive simulator tests to ensure accuracy, fidelity and compliance with operational requirements.
• Identify and resolve technical issues, optimising simulation performance and stability.
• Collaborate with systems, software and hardware engineers, and help define simulation architectures and select technologies.
• Contribute to improving simulation development processes and provide technical support and training to simulator users.
• Document simulation design, implementation and results.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience developing and testing mission simulators or real-time systems in aerospace or defence.
• Advanced spoken and written Spanish and English.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance if required.

Required skills

• Strong experience with C++.
• In-depth knowledge of simulation architectures, physical modelling and system integration.
• Experience with simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink and development environments.
• Familiarity with real-time operating systems and data communication protocols.
• Knowledge of aerospace standards such as ARINC, DO-178C and DO-254 is an asset.
