Senior Occupational Health and Safety Technician

About the role

This fully remote position, based in Spain, is responsible for ensuring Oyster meets its statutory health and safety obligations. You will lead the design, implementation and management of the Internal Prevention Service in Spain while supporting global HSE initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead creation, design and ongoing management of Oyster’s Internal Prevention Service (Servicio de Prevención Propio) in Spain.
• Conduct workplace risk assessments, investigate accidents and occupational illnesses, and produce health and safety reports.
• Act as the primary H&S subject‑matter expert for Spain, handling escalations, regulatory liaison during labor inspections and vendor management.
• Collaborate on global HSE policies, audits, inspections and incident management across all regions.
• Manage relationships with health and safety vendors, overseeing onboarding, performance metrics and governance.
• Lead cross‑functional HSE projects, drive continuous improvement and leverage AI/automation where appropriate.

Required profile

• Deep technical knowledge of Spain’s occupational risk prevention regulations and experience managing an Internal Prevention Service.
• Ability to support health and safety frameworks across multiple countries in a remote environment.
• Strong communication skills for handling escalations, advising senior leadership and delivering training.
• Proven project management experience driving cross‑functional H&S initiatives from conception to execution.
