Senior Platform Engineer – R&D Automation

About the role

The Senior Platform Software Engineer in the R&D Automation team will combine strong backend software engineering with hands‑on AI expertise to build agentic systems that transform how software is developed at Preply.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build AI agents and the harness that power them using Python.
• Develop reusable agent capabilities, tools and integrations that connect AI systems with our engineering ecosystem and internal knowledge.
• Experiment rapidly with new AI capabilities, taking ideas from proof‑of‑concept through validation and scalable adoption.
• Design verification and orchestration mechanisms to ensure reliable, safe agentic workflows.
• Measure agent usage and value, using data and feedback to continuously improve them.

Required profile

• Approximately 8 years of experience designing and building complex backend software systems.
• Strong production‑grade Python development skills.
• Hands‑on experience building AI agents, agentic workflows or platforms that enable AI‑powered capabilities.
• Proven ability to take experimental ideas to robust, scalable solutions.
• Excellent communication skills and minimum C1 English level.
