Senior Platform Engineer – Site Reliability (SRE)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Platform Software Engineer to join our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team in Barcelona. You will help keep Preply’s platform reliable, scalable and performant for millions of learners and tutors worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain high availability and improve scalability of mission‑critical services as traffic grows.
• Build core services, tooling and automation that enable engineers to ship safely and quickly.
• Enhance observability, alerting and incident response processes, including blameless post‑mortems.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and implement FinOps‑aware infrastructure optimisations.
• Collaborate with product teams to design new systems and resolve technical issues.

Required profile

• ~8 years of experience designing, building and troubleshooting high‑traffic distributed systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python and hands‑on experience with a major public cloud, preferably AWS.
• Demonstrated ability to implement observability, alerting and reliable incident response.
• Comfort with paid on‑call duties and a data‑driven, business‑oriented mindset.
• Excellent communication skills and minimum C1 level English.
