Senior Sales Engineer (Spanish Speaking)

About the role

Checkout.com is looking for a Senior Sales Engineer who speaks Spanish to join its fast‑growing team in Barcelona. You will own the technical side of client relationships from the first contact through solution design, integration and go‑live, helping merchants across Southern Europe adopt our payments platform.

Key responsibilities

• Support Account Executives by positioning Checkout.com products, solutions and services to win deals.
• Gather merchant requirements, map them to APIs, create solution designs and internal documentation.
• Run demos, build payment‑flow proofs‑of‑concept and customise presentations.
• Lead technical interactions with merchants, including calls, workshops and bid management (RFP/RFI).
• Provide feedback to product and commercial teams to drive platform improvements.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years experience in a sales‑engineer, solutions‑architect or pre‑sales role.
• Fluent written and spoken English and Spanish, able to communicate with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Strong commercial focus, self‑driven and able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
• Experience with API‑based integrations and ability to troubleshoot using logs, API responses and tests.

Required skills

• REST/JSON APIs and Postman.
• JavaScript and front‑end frameworks such as React or Angular.
• Back‑end languages including Java.NET, Python or Node.js.
• 3‑D Secure (3DS) and network tokenisation.
• Apple Pay, Google Pay and Open Banking integrations.
• Knowledge of payment‑industry standards (PSD2/PSD3, ISO‑8583) and fraud‑risk engines.
