Senior Software Development Engineer in Test

About the role

SPD Technology is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test to strengthen the quality foundation of its data platform. You will work with a cross‑functional team building a flexible system that collects, enriches, and shares data across multiple internal services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for a microservices architecture.
• Create and execute comprehensive test strategies covering UI, API, integration, and end‑to‑end scenarios.
• Implement CI/CD quality gates and ensure test‑coverage visibility across pipelines.
• Collaborate with developers to improve testability, observability, and performance of services.
• Identify, document, and track defects and technical risks.
• Drive continuous improvement of test automation and QA processes.
• Mentor and support mid‑level SDETs and QA engineers.

Required profile

• Strong proficiency in Java (Java 17+ preferred).
• Extensive experience with test automation frameworks.
• Hands‑on experience with UI, API, integration, and end‑to‑end testing.
• Solid background in CI/CD pipelines and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with Kafka, PostgreSQL, and Elastic is a plus.
• Deep understanding of software testing principles, design patterns, and OOP.
• Proven track record in performance testing, integration testing, and test data management.
• Experience using AI tools in engineering contexts.
• Ownership mindset, proactive problem‑solving, and strong communication skills.
• Ability to mentor mid‑level engineers.
