Senior System Engineer – Virtualization (Remote)

About the role

This senior infrastructure position focuses on designing, operating and continuously improving enterprise‑grade virtualization environments. The role is fully remote and supports large‑scale, globally distributed systems that serve millions of users.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and administer VMware (ESXi, vCenter) and Microsoft Hyper‑V platforms.
• Manage Hyper‑Converged Infrastructure (vSAN) and traditional SAN‑based storage, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Lead lifecycle activities such as upgrades, patching, migrations and hybrid/cloud integration.
• Monitor system performance, conduct capacity planning and apply reliability engineering practices.
• Collaborate with SRE, DevOps, networking and support teams to resolve production incidents and perform root‑cause analysis.
• Implement and maintain backup, disaster‑recovery and storage solutions.
• Develop automation scripts and tools to reduce manual effort.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and improve operational procedures.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with VMware virtualization technologies at enterprise scale.
• Proven expertise in VMware vSAN deployment, administration and performance tuning.
• Solid background with Microsoft Hyper‑V and System Center Virtual Machine Manager.
• Deep understanding of virtual networking, SAN storage and enterprise storage architectures.
• Experience automating tasks with scripting languages.
