Senior Tutor Development Specialist

About the role

As a Senior Tutor Development Specialist you will shape the teaching quality standards for Preply’s global tutor community. You will lead the design, delivery and continuous improvement of tutor training programs, ensuring tutors have the skills and resources to succeed.

Key responsibilities

• Define and refine teaching quality standards and a quarterly growth strategy for tutors across languages and subjects.
• Lead the pedagogical, content and assessment strategy for the Initial Tutor Training program.
• Analyze teaching quality metrics and optimise development content to drive measurable improvement.
• Commission tutor development content, hire and train subject‑matter experts, and oversee the Tutor Academy roadmap.
• Collaborate with Supply Engagement, B2B, Learning Design and Customer Experience teams to align curriculum, assessment and delivery methods.
• Act as a thought leader on tutor development, representing Preply internally and externally.

Required profile

• Significant experience in tutor development within edtech or a large training institution.
• Proven track record designing and scaling high‑quality online tutor training.
• Strong facilitation and communication skills for engaging learners remotely.
• Ability to work with cross‑functional teams (Product, Data, Communications) and subject‑matter experts.
• Passion for teaching quality and a commercial mindset.

• Video production tools for training material.
• Data analysis platforms such as Amplitude.
• Business intelligence tools like Looker.
