Senior Valve Group Engineer – Nuclear Power

About the role

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Senior Valve Group Engineer to support nuclear power plant projects. The role involves performing valve set‑point calculations, weak‑link analyses, and developing technical reports for both design and outage activities. You will work closely with customers, vendors, and regulators to ensure valve performance meets stringent nuclear standards.

Key responsibilities

• Calculate valve setpoints and update datasheets according to customer requirements.
• Perform weak‑link calculations and analyze valve trace data from diagnostic work.
• Develop valve sizing requirements for new plant designs or modifications.
• Prepare technical reports within the Valve Engineering discipline.
• Provide troubleshooting, technical assistance, and support during outage periods, including shift work (8‑12 hours per day).
• Collaborate with I&C, electrical, civil & structural, licensing, and layout teams on design modifications.
• Communicate work status to technical leads and management, and present technical material in customer, vendor, and regulator meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical preferred); a Master in Nuclear Engineering is valued.
• Experience with Motor Operated Valves (MOV) and Air Operated Valves (AOV).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Access and Excel.
• Ability to travel internationally to Westinghouse offices and customer sites.
• Fluent in English (minimum B2) and Spanish; Catalan is a plus.
