Site Reliability Engineer – 100% Remote (Spain)

About the role

UST is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join a cross‑functional team supporting a top‑tier banking client in the US and UK markets. The position is fully remote and open to candidates located in Spain. You will apply SRE principles to improve the reliability, scalability, and observability of in‑house front‑end applications running on AWS.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers to design, build, and maintain highly available services.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance system performance and fault tolerance.
• Implement automation to reduce operational overhead and improve observability.
• Define, track, and meet Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Indicators (SLIs).
• Participate in on‑call rotation (paid) and contribute to incident response.

Required profile

• Fluent in English and Spanish.
• Proven experience as a DevOps, Cloud, or similar engineer.
• Strong background in cloud architecture, preferably AWS.
• Experience with distributed systems, performance tuning, and resiliency.

Required skills

• AWS (preferred), Azure or GCP.
• Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins).
• Containers and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes.
• Monitoring and observability tools: New Relic, Grafana, AppDynamics, Logz.io.
• ServiceNow, PagerDuty.
• Programming languages: Java, JavaScript, Python.
• Agile methodologies: Scrum, Jira.
