Software Asset Management Specialist – SAP

About the role

Zurich Insurance Group is seeking a senior Software Asset Management (SAM) Specialist focused on SAP to join its global SAM function. The role will optimise software contract spend, ensure compliance and drive cost‑saving initiatives across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide subject‑matter expertise on SAP licensing, indirect usage rules and product use rights.
• Navigate and leverage SAP4Me, SAP System Measurement Tools (LAW, USSM) and self‑declaration metrics.
• Ensure transparent cost allocation of software contracts to business units and service owners.
• Negotiate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to mitigate compliance risks and achieve savings.
• Identify and drive initiatives for software‑related savings, best‑practice development and process improvement.
• Support complex software contract negotiations, demand management and liaison with legal, sourcing and vendor teams.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on management of SAP software portfolios in an enterprise environment.
• Direct involvement in software vendor negotiations and contract management.
• Strong analytical, financial and commercial acumen with attention to detail.
• Fluent spoken and written English (B2+).

Required skills

• SAP licensing concepts and SAP RISE optimisation.
• Experience with SAP4Me, LAW, USSM and self‑declaration metrics.
• Advanced MS Excel skills; Power Query is a plus.
• Profit and Loss (P&L) calculations and accruals for cost impact.
