Software Engineer – Connect Platform

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join the Connect Platform team in Spain. The role focuses on building and enhancing the backend systems that enable reliable communication between energy devices—such as EV chargers and vehicles—and digital services. You will work in a fast‑growing climate‑technology environment, collaborating with cross‑functional engineers to deliver scalable, resilient solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain API integrations with energy device manufacturers.
• Improve platform reliability, scalability, observability and overall performance.
• Implement backend features that facilitate seamless device connectivity for customers.
• Create automation tools for integration monitoring, testing, troubleshooting and operational efficiency.
• Strengthen monitoring, alerting and reliability practices to reduce incidents.
• Define and refine service‑level objectives, operational processes and engineering best practices.
• Debug complex technical issues and build long‑term preventative solutions.
• Participate in technical discussions to align platform priorities with product and customer needs.
• Collaborate with engineers across teams and contribute to a supportive engineering culture.

Required profile

• Proven experience building maintainable, testable backend software, preferably with API development or integration focus.
• Strong interest in product‑focused platform engineering that connects applications, services and devices.
• Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript, or willingness to develop expertise in TypeScript.
• Understanding of distributed systems and scalable backend architectures.
• Ability to improve existing systems through debugging, automation, monitoring and reliability enhancements.
