Software Engineer (Full Stack)

About the role

Discoup is a fast‑growing global leader in discount code and coupon portals. We are looking for a pragmatic, hands‑on Software Engineer to help scale our backend services and support our remote teams in Spain or Italy.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend applications and services.
• Contribute to the core platform (Elixir/Phoenix preferred) and work with functional languages.
• Design and optimise PostgreSQL schemas and queries for high‑volume traffic.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and data teams to deliver reliable features.
• Improve platform reliability, observability, and scalability.
• Participate in architectural discussions and technical decision‑making.
• Support API development and integrations with third‑party and internal services.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and engineering best practices.
• Help raise code quality through reviews, testing, and documentation.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong backend engineering background with deep PostgreSQL knowledge.
• Experience with APIs, distributed systems, and high‑traffic applications.
• Understanding of software architecture, scalability, and performance optimisation.
• Familiarity with cloud environments and containerised deployments.
• Proficiency with Git workflows and modern development practices.
• Collaborative mindset, strong problem‑solving skills, and professional English proficiency.
