About the role
Monzo is looking for a Backend Software Engineer III to join its Barcelona squad. You will collaborate with product managers, designers, data analysts and other engineers to build and maintain core banking services that power millions of customers.
Key responsibilities
- Work within a cross‑functional squad to design, develop, and ship backend features.
- Maintain and improve the reliability, performance, and security of Monzo’s banking platform.
- Contribute to open‑source projects and share knowledge across engineering teams.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous‑delivery pipelines.
Required profile
- Strong experience working as a backend engineer.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse team members.
- Passion for learning new technologies and solving complex problems.
