Software Requirements and Test Engineer

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Software Requirements and Test Engineer to join the Airborne Connectivity team in Getafe, Madrid. You will work on high‑integrity, real‑time embedded systems that enable smart connectivity, distributed networking, and AI for military airborne platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Define and document software requirements derived from system functional specifications.
• Develop comprehensive verification test cases and procedures linked to those requirements.
• Maintain traceability matrices across specifications, requirements, and test cases.
• Execute test cases, record results, and generate detailed defect reports.
• Track and manage problem reports through resolution, coordinating with development teams.
• Collaborate with product managers, system engineers, and validation teams to drive software from concept to delivery.
• Participate in project planning, providing input on requirements and testing effort.
• Suggest process, tool, and methodology improvements to foster innovation.

Required profile

• Degree in software engineering, IT, telecommunications, industrial engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in real‑time or embedded software development.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.
