Software Requirements and Test Engineer

About the role

Aerospace company Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Software Requirements and Test Engineer in its Airborne Connectivity team in Getafe (Madrid). The team designs and develops products, hardware and software that provide connectivity and communications to customers, and is involved in the full lifecycle of embedded software, from requirements to testing and target computer implementation. The role involves leading design and architectural decisions and leading specific projects.

Key responsibilities

• Define and document software requirements based on system functional specifications.
• Develop software verification test cases and procedures based on those requirements.
• Establish and maintain traceability matrices between specifications and test cases.
• Execute test cases, record results and create detailed defect reports, then track them to resolution.
• Partner with product and program managers, system engineers and validation teams to deliver software on time and within budget.
• Take part in project planning and suggest improvements to processes, tools and methodologies.

Required profile

• Degree in software, IT, telecommunications, industrial engineering or a related field.
• 3 years of experience.
• Fluent English and Spanish.
• Ability to balance multiple perspectives on products, projects and processes.

Required skills

• Expertise in real-time and/or embedded software development.
• Expertise in defining software requirements and software verification.
• Preferred: knowledge of DO-178C and EFA standards, Common Criteria cyber-security concepts, C/C++ and/or Ada, and tools such as SysML, UML, GPS, AdaMulti, Eclipse, Vector Cast and AdaTest95.
