Staff Engineer

About the role

Valsea Technology is looking for a Staff‑level engineer to lead AI adoption across its high‑scale entertainment platform. You will be the most senior technical voice, pairing with engineers on complex integrations while shaping the technical roadmap.

Key responsibilities

• Own the AI technical strategy and roadmap, aligning feasibility with Valsea’s Scala/Go/Kafka backend.
• Architect and deliver AI‑powered features such as recommendation, personalization, fraud detection, and internal tooling.
• Define vision for AI‑driven QA automation and AI‑accelerated support/incident response.
• Integrate LLM and ML infrastructure, making pragmatic build‑vs‑buy decisions respecting scale, latency and cost.
• Mentor senior and mid‑level engineers, run design reviews and raise the technical bar for AI‑assisted systems.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong expertise in JVM/Scala or comparable statically‑typed, distributed‑systems language.
• Proven Staff/Principal‑level experience setting technical direction and shipping AI/ML features at production scale.
• Deep knowledge of event‑driven architectures (Akka/Pekko, Kafka) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Product‑mindset focused on player impact and business outcomes.
• Excellent communicator able to discuss architecture with engineers and present cases to leadership.
