Stream-aligned Software Engineer (Military Derivatives)

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Stream‑aligned Software Engineer to join its Software Mission Systems Team in Getafe, Madrid. You will work on R&D and core product initiatives that enhance mission‑system capabilities using next‑generation technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Design, write and maintain clean, modern C++ code for Linux platforms.
• Implement data‑centric communication interfaces and network architectures with DDS middleware.
• Develop responsive graphical user interfaces using the Qt framework (Quick, QML, or Widgets).
• Own end‑to‑end delivery of customer‑facing features using Trunk Based Development and continuous value‑stream practices.
• Ensure high software quality through Test‑Driven Development, including unit, integration and regression tests.
• Create technical documentation such as software architectures, API contracts and DDS data models.

Required profile

• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent technical experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in high‑performance software development.
• Advanced proficiency in English and Spanish (written and spoken).
