Stress Engineering Internship – Airbus Helicopters

About the role

Join Airbus Helicopters for an 11‑month graduate internship focused on airframe stress engineering. You will work alongside the Airframe Stress Department, applying structural mechanics and digital tools to support the design and certification of helicopter airframes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and refine Finite Element Models (FEM) using Nastran and Altair Hyperworks.
• Drive digital transformation by automating calculation processes and exploring AI‑based optimisation.
• Research and apply internal stress manuals, aviation regulations, and certification guidelines.
• Analyse design concepts, evaluate structural solutions, and ensure safety and integration.
• Assist in preparing stress reports, certification documentation, and technical presentations.

Required profile

• Recent graduate (BSc/MSc) in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field with a focus on structures.
• Strong foundation in structural mechanics and materials.
• Motivated, curious, and willing to take responsibility in a fast‑moving environment.
