Systems Integration Engineer (Remote, EMEA)

About the role

Dematic, part of the KION Group, is strengthening its EMEA Systems Integration function. The Systems Integration Engineer acts as the "Voice of Engineering" for the Solutions Development team, ensuring that automated materials handling solutions are delivered to specification with customer requirements at the forefront. The role is remote and spends most of the time on customer sites across the country, driving user and solutions acceptance testing so that technology is accepted right first time.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the voice of engineering for the Solutions Development team, giving input on solutions and acceptance testing language before sale
• Support the Simulation team by advising technically, reviewing and approving simulation output and reports, anticipating deviations and informing the customer of their responsibilities
• Generate system specifications for customer approval and define and lead the integration strategy from Solutions through Execution
• Ensure system specifications, software functional specifications, acceptance test plans and mechanical and controls deliverables align with contractual requirements and consistent interfaces and nomenclature
• Lead site-wide system testing with the Test Manager, documenting test strategy, test plans, simulation and emulation tests and results
• Produce system availability weightings and oversee the calculation of the appropriate FEM availability method

Required profile

• Master's degree in industrial plant, mechatronics or mathematics
• At least 4 years of experience in development or technical management, preferably in high-level automated logistics
• 4+ years of engineering experience with demonstrated material handling industry experience preferred
• Functional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work with regionally located teams
• Ability to create technical documentation and to be customer-facing
• Availability to travel domestically 50-60% of the time, with a full driver's licence
