Tax Specialist

About the role

ENGIE is seeking a Tax Specialist to ensure timely and accurate tax compliance for its Spanish entities. Reporting to the Head of Tax/Tax Manager, you will prepare tax returns, handle communications with tax authorities and support internal teams on tax matters.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the payment of all taxes applicable to the company and prepare the corresponding tax returns at state, regional and local levels (VAT, corporate income tax, wastewater discharge taxes, emissions, property tax, etc.).
• Prepare and submit required tax filings to the Spanish Tax Authorities.
• Draft responses to tax authority requests and manage all notifications received.
• Register the company for tax purposes and handle related procedures.
• Provide support during tax audits and assist in preparing transfer‑pricing documentation and reviewing intercompany transactions.
• Inform the organization of potential tax developments and help implement changes in internal systems.
• Review and propose improvements to the systems used for extracting tax data.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics or a related field.
• 2‑3 years of experience in tax compliance within a company, law firm or consultancy, preferably in the energy sector.
• Proficiency in English (B2 level) and basic knowledge of Spanish tax regulations.
• Analytical thinking and strong attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency in accounting software.
• Basic user knowledge of SAP.
