Vehicle Mechanic - War Readiness Reserve Material (WRM)

About the role

KBR supports the operational needs of U.S. armed forces at Morón Air Base in Spain and several bases in Turkey, providing program management, civil engineering, morale, welfare and recreation support. As a Local National (LN) Vehicle Mechanic, you will carry out minor and major maintenance repairs on heavy industrial and non-industrial military vehicles and equipment, including War Readiness Reserve Material (WRM) and standard base fleet vehicles, following host nation laws, Technical Orders, commercial manuals, Air Force instructions and Performance Work Statement standards.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and perform maintenance on industrial vehicles and non-vehicle War Readiness Reserve equipment
• Remove, disassemble, repair or replace components, assemblies and subassemblies, then reinstall them
• Inspect and repair industrial, commercial, material handling, special-purpose and general-purpose vehicles, including tractors and trailers
• Repair or replace valves, chains, lift cylinders, clutches, transmissions, brakes and engine components
• Perform scheduled maintenance and oil and filter changes on government fleet vehicles
• Carry out functional tests and repairs on water and fuel pumping and electrical systems
• Perform 24-hour on-call standby duties when required
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems on forklifts and towing equipment, and gasoline/diesel engines
• Enter maintenance data into Air Force systems, complete parts requests and coordinate with Material Control to identify needed parts
• Maintain good housekeeping and follow company safety practices

Required profile

• At least four years of experience in vehicle and mechanical repair
• Official training in vehicle maintenance and/or vehicle mechanics
• Ability to communicate in Spanish and English at Level I (speak, read, write and understand)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Class B Spanish driver's license; Class C preferred
