Waiter Assistant (20h) – Hotel Barcelo Emperatriz

About the role

We are looking for a part‑time Waiter Assistant (20 hours per week) to support food and beverage service at the Barceló Emperatriz hotel in Madrid. Working under the supervision of a waiter or senior staff, you will help ensure smooth operation in the restaurant, bar and event areas.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the restaurant team under supervision, providing basic customer service especially on the terrace and bar.
• Take occasional drink orders and serve beverages.
• Set up and organise furniture, tables and equipment as required.
• Open and close the assigned work area at the start and end of each shift.
• Prepare bar supplies (lemons, ice, drinks, etc.) and verify stock levels.
• Re‑stock materials, perform basic inventory checks and complete daily service reports.
• Support simple event setups such as moving tables, placing coffee machines, and arranging stationery.
• Check payment markings to avoid errors and assist with material extraction from the warehouse.

Required profile

• Medium‑level vocational training in hospitality (Ciclo Formativo Grado Medio en Hostelería).
• Mandatory HACCP certification.
• At least one year of experience in a similar role.
• High level of English.
• Team‑oriented, able to work under pressure and maintain a professional image.
