WRM Repair Mechanic - UABOS Spain

About the role

KBR supports the operational needs of U.S. armed forces at Morón Air Base in Spain and several bases in Turkey, providing program management, civil engineering, morale, welfare and recreation support. This WRM Repair Mechanic position maintains non-vehicle RADR equipment according to Technical Orders, commercial manuals and Air Force instructions, while enforcing shop floor safety and environmental practices.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain and repair military, industrial and commercial equipment, including water and fuel pumping systems, cable and hydraulic lifting equipment, forklifts, towing equipment and gasoline and diesel engines.
• Remove, disassemble, repair or replace components, assemblies and subassemblies, and make operational adjustments to items such as drag brakes, relief valves, lift cylinders, clutches, transmissions and brakes.
• Perform lubrication, oil and filter changes on Government fleet vehicles and equipment, and minor corrosion control repairs found during safety and schedule inspections.
• Assist Material Control in identifying parts needed for repairs using technical orders and commercial manuals.
• Maintain good housekeeping and safety practices, and perform other assigned duties such as supporting company special projects.
• Use ILS-S to manage the Maintenance Repair Spares Package and ELMS to document inspections, maintenance and equipment status, and provide a monthly RADR inventory report.
• Reconstitute deployed equipment returned to storage status.

Required profile

• At least four years of experience in vehicle and mechanical repair.
• Ability to communicate in Spanish and to speak, read, write and understand English at Level I.
• High school completion or equivalent.
• Spanish Class B driver's license; a valid Class C license is preferred.

Working conditions

• Light lifting of items up to 30 kg, moderate exposure to dust, noise, vibrations, fumes, chemicals and greases, and prolonged sitting and driving.
• Occasional exposure to inclement weather and hazardous work conditions.
