XPLORER 2027 Internship – Carbon Fiber Paradox Project

About the role

Airbus is looking for a final‑year industrial engineering student to join its Illescas site for the XPLORER 2027 program. You will work on a carbon‑fiber project that balances performance with environmental impact, completing your Bachelor’s degree final project (TFG) while gaining hands‑on experience in aerospace manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute a final‑year training project on carbon‑fiber integration.
• Analyse the environmental impact of current processes and propose short‑term actions (reduce, recycle, reuse).
• Research how other Airbus sites and industry players address carbon‑fiber challenges.
• Develop a medium‑term strategy to improve sustainability and performance.
• Collaborate with a dedicated tutor and multidisciplinary teams.

Required profile

• Industrial engineering degree (final year) with a focus on carbon materials.
• English proficiency at minimum B2 level (C1 desirable).
• Spanish proficiency at minimum B1 level.
• Strong teamwork and ability to work in an international environment.
