Application Developer & Automation Engineer

About the role

HCLTech is seeking an Application Developer & Automation Engineer (Level 2) to support digital transformation projects for EMEA clients, primarily based in Spain. The role combines hands‑on development, automation, and support of internal applications and data infrastructure, acting as the main technical liaison for customer teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and enhance an internal .NET Framework application using C#.
• Manage SQL Server databases, ensuring data integrity and optimal performance.
• Administer Azure resources such as Virtual Machines, Key Vault, IIS‑hosted apps and Azure SQL databases.
• Create and optimise Python ETL scripts with Pandas for data processing.
• Design, develop and automate Power BI reports and dashboards, handling refresh and publication.
• Build process automations with Power Automate, integrating Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, etc.
• Provide user support, troubleshoot issues, fix bugs and implement enhancements.
• Maintain technical documentation in Confluence and Jira.
• Collaborate directly with customer teams, acting as the primary technical point of contact.
• Apply AI technologies to extend automation and data solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in .NET Framework and C# development.
• Strong SQL Server knowledge and query development skills.
• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure infrastructure.
• Advanced Python scripting ability, especially with Pandas.
• Fluent in Spanish and English, both written and spoken.
• Excellent communication and customer‑facing capabilities.
