FP&A Controller

About the role

Sulzer is seeking an experienced FP&A Controller to join its Finance & Controlling team at the Madrid Center of Excellence. You will act as a trusted finance partner for multiple EMEA entities, turning financial data into actionable insights that support strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting and long‑range planning for assigned entities.
• Prepare and analyse monthly financial results, highlighting variances, risks and opportunities.
• Support management reporting with meaningful analysis and recommendations.
• Drive profitability analysis and monitor key financial metrics.
• Partner with Finance Business Partners and operational stakeholders on strategic decisions.
• Monitor operating expenses, headcount, working capital and other KPIs.
• Assist month‑end and year‑end closing activities, ensuring data accuracy.
• Participate in CAPEX planning, investment analysis and related reporting.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, internal controls and Sulzer financial policies.
• Improve reporting processes, dashboards and planning tools through automation and standardisation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, Controlling or a similar finance role.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and performance analysis.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities with high attention to detail.
