Software Development Engineer, Billing and Subscriptions

About the role

Ring is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer to join its growing Billing and Subscriptions team. You will design, develop, and maintain high‑quality services that power billing and subscription features for Ring customers across Amazon and Ring platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design, create, and update reusable, test‑driven code for billing and subscription services.
• Develop highly scalable APIs and systems that support a growing business.
• Collaborate with engineering, QA, product, marketing, and support teams to define and estimate new features.
• Research and incorporate new capabilities to improve user experience and platform efficiency.
• Own operational excellence, technical debt, and security roadmap, prioritizing work with product teams.
• Guide teammates through design reviews, code reviews, and defect analysis.
• Participate in on‑call rotation and provide documentation for services and APIs.
