Tax Analyst – EU VAT & 3P Compliance (German speaker)

About the role

Amazon is seeking a Tax Analyst to join its VAT Compliance & Control team in Barcelona. The role focuses on ensuring third‑party (3P) sellers meet EU VAT obligations, providing data to tax authorities, and managing marketplace access.

Key responsibilities

• Confirm the VAT registration and compliance status of 3P sellers.
• Provide transactional and other data to tax authorities regarding 3P sellers.
• Manage and control access of 3P sellers to Amazon marketplaces based on VAT compliance status and tax‑authority requests.
• Assist with VAT registrations across various European jurisdictions.
• Respond to VAT compliance queries from Amazon businesses operating across Europe.
• Support internal and external audits, including data analysis.
• Provide assistance to colleagues throughout the business, especially accounting groups.
• Participate in cross‑functional projects with a VAT compliance impact.
• Map VAT compliance processes, identify improvement areas, and drive positive change.

Required profile

• Fluent in spoken, written, and read German.
• Fluent in spoken, written, and read English.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Experience working in a large public accounting firm or a multinational corporate tax department.
