Accounts Receivable Officer

About the role

SLS Barcelona, a five-star urban resort in the Port Forum district, is looking for an Accounts Receivable professional to join its Finance team under the guidance of the Assistant Director of Finance. You will support the financial operations of the hotel, manage hotel assets and ensure a centralized accounting environment.

Key responsibilities

• Reconcile the PMS daily city ledger, guest ledger and advance deposit ledger balances with the previous month's closing balance and the PMS net changes for the current month.
• Prepare the daily revenue journal, classifying revenues to the correct general ledger codes and circulating reports to department heads.
• Verify that daily cash postings in the PMS match the General Cashier report, and verify credit card billing against the daily business report.
• Prepare credit card and bank conciliation sheets and credit card commission accruals.
• Follow credit policy and control self-assessment audit procedures, check invoices against quoted rates and banquet orders, and allocate credits to the correct invoices.
• Credit management: process new credit applications, maintain a complete credit file for each account, review checked-out guests, open payer accounts and advance deposits, and establish and review credit limits.
• Follow up outstanding amounts with standard letters, advise on potential problems early, and manage credit card inquiries and disputes.
• Maintain accurate accounts receivable balances and communicate regularly with credit stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in hospitality, business administration or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in a hotel's accounting department.
• Fluent Spanish and English.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with a high level of attention to detail.
• Problem-solving mindset, quick learner, adaptable to the SLS culture, and team-oriented.
