General Ledger Accountant – Shared Service Center

About the role

We are seeking a General Ledger Accountant to join our Shared Service Center in Barcelona. The role supports multiple legal entities across the EMEA region, handling end‑to‑end ledger activities and ensuring accurate financial reporting in line with IFRS and local GAAP.

Key responsibilities

• Post general ledger journal entries in Microsoft Dynamics 365 or Navision for salary, fixed assets, accruals, provisions, and bank statements.
• Execute month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end IFRS closings and feed financial statements into the OneStream reporting system.
• Reconcile bank ledgers, intercompany balances and ensure timely posting of bank statements.
• Prepare periodic reports such as sales and OWC, and maintain clean balance‑sheet accounts.
• File VAT, Intrastat and other tax declarations on schedule.
• Support group and local audits and prepare statutory accounts according to local GAAP.
• Identify and implement process improvements and KPI enhancements.

Required profile

• Academic degree in Business Administration, Finance or a related field.
• Strong understanding of finance, accounting processes and IFRS.
• Fluent English; additional European language is a plus.
• Customer‑oriented, organized, detail‑focused and proactive.
