Port Engineer

About the role

T‑Solutions is seeking a qualified Port Engineer to serve as the on‑site representative responsible for maintaining the operational readiness of assigned vessels. The role involves direct oversight of shipboard condition validation, coordination of maintenance activities, and acting as the primary liaison between the Type Commander (TYCOM) and the Commanding Officer.

Key responsibilities

• Validate shipboard conditions through personal observation and evaluation.
• Lead a maintenance team and manage off‑ship modernization projects.
• Maintain and update an online database of all maintenance jobs.
• Prepare work requests, preliminary estimates, and prioritized work packages for TYCOM approval.
• Review work specifications, coordinate repair schedules, and oversee execution.
• Provide risk assessments and prioritization reports to the vessel’s commanding officer.
• Participate in daily meetings with crew, department heads, and commanding officers.
• Attend weekly status meetings and ship maintenance events to address logistics and funding issues.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of ship operational and maintenance requirements.
• Experience leading maintenance teams in a maritime environment.
• Ability to manage budgets, timelines, and documentation for TYCOM processes.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with crew, department heads, and senior command.
