Rear Fuselage & Empennage Design Engineer (Temporary)

About the role

Airbus is looking for a Design Engineer to join the Rear Fuselage and Empennage (RFE) Airframe engineering team. The role focuses on the design, analysis and optimisation of composite and metallic components for a range of Airbus programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Design composite and hybrid components and assemblies, balancing weight, cost, performance and production requirements.
• Develop and verify engineering deliverables such as feasibility studies, structural detail parts, drawings and definition dossiers.
• Define technical solutions for new modifications, manage change processes and ensure completeness of engineering decision dossiers.
• Analyse mod‑validity changes, coordinate non‑conformities and concessions.
• Represent the Design Office in a production‑focused environment and support plant performance improvement initiatives.
• Leverage Airbus digital tools to enhance design processes and maintain structural integrity of aircraft.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Autonomous, proactive and customer‑focused attitude.
• Strong analytical ability and pragmatic decision‑making.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, fluent in English.
• Integrity and ability to work in an international, multicultural environment.
