Senior AI Scientist – Advanced Analytics

About the role

Santander’s Data & AI Science (DAISci) team is looking for a Senior AI Scientist to lead the evolution of traditional data‑science practices into cutting‑edge AI science. You will work on high‑impact financial problems, applying frontier AI methods to create scalable, production‑grade intelligent systems.

Key responsibilities

• Define and frame complex business challenges as scientific problems.
• Design experimental strategies and develop advanced modeling approaches beyond conventional machine‑learning pipelines.
• Implement and operationalise models using graph‑based learning, reinforcement learning, synthetic data generation, advanced retrieval methods and Generative AI.
• Collaborate with engineering, product and business stakeholders to move prototypes to reliable, long‑running systems.
• Mentor peers, guide project direction and ensure methodological choices meet risk and governance standards.

Required profile

• Strong individual contributor with a proven track record in AI research and advanced analytics.
• Ability to combine classical analytical rigor with emerging AI methodologies.
• Experience working in cross‑functional squads and delivering production‑grade AI solutions.
