Senior Security Engineer

About the role

We are looking for our first Senior Security Engineer to build and lead the cybersecurity program for Valsea’s gaming technology platform. Based in Marbella with hybrid/remote flexibility, you will shape security strategy and work closely with engineering, compliance and data‑protection teams.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement a comprehensive security strategy aligned with business goals.
• Establish security processes, controls and governance across the organization.
• Conduct threat modeling, risk assessments and vulnerability management for cloud and application assets.
• Collaborate with development teams to embed secure coding practices and application security testing.
• Manage security tooling such as SAST, SIEM, WAF and vulnerability scanners.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 27001, PCI‑DSS, GDPR and other relevant frameworks.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity or information security.
• Proven track record of building security programs, preferably as a first security hire or in a startup.
• Strong understanding of application security principles and secure development lifecycle.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
