Student Success Specialist – Mentor Programs

About the role

The Student Success Specialist plans, coordinates, and develops mentor programs for students and families, aiming to boost academic and social outcomes. Working under general supervision, the specialist acts as the primary liaison between Tucson Unified School District and the local business community.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement student/family mentor programs aligned with district goals.
• Disseminate program information to schools, families, and community partners.
• Serve as the point of contact between the district and business organizations supporting mentoring.
• Perform related duties as assigned, ensuring program compliance and effectiveness.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Services, Counseling, or a related field (or equivalent combination of associate degree, 60 semester‑hour credits, or approved assessment test).
• Four (4) years of experience providing direct services and program oversight for school‑age children, plus six (6) years of progressive experience in similar roles.
• Proof of immunity to measles and rubella or MMR vaccination.
• Valid Arizona driver’s license within 30 days of hire and personal vehicle insurance meeting state minimums.
