Tech Programmer (Mobile Games)

About the role

Ubisoft Barcelona Mobile is looking for a Tech Programmer to join the team developing high‑quality free‑to‑play mobile games. Reporting to the Lead Gameplay Programmer, you will help shape the technical foundation of our projects while ensuring tools and pipelines run smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse game development needs, assess feasibility and propose technical solutions.
• Review code and asset integration throughout the development cycle to keep the project technically sound.
• Support and improve production pipelines, including editor workflows, third‑party plug‑ins (e.g., 3DS Max, Maya) and productivity tools such as build systems and source control.
• Create automation for build delivery to meet Production and Quality Control requirements.
• Develop complex systems such as real‑time event managers, asset‑bundle managers and custom editor tools.
• Identify, debug and resolve defects in tools, engine and pipelines, and report technical risks.
• Understand and integrate SDK road‑maps into the project.
• Write robust, optimized and maintainable code and document solutions for team use.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of software development experience or demonstrable strong software skills.
• Legal work permit for Spain.
• Passion for mobile gaming and ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural team.

Required skills

• Experience with 3DS Max.
• Experience with Maya.
• Proficiency in source control systems (e.g., Git).
• Familiarity with SDK integration.
